Seekers

What is Fengshui or Geomancy? Practiced by the Chinese for
thousands of years, Fengshui is best defined as the
rational methodology of finding the best locations for humans to settle down on
Earth. It might not always be scientific, but it is always based on the
principles of seeking harmony between Man and Nature as well as common sense or
sheer experience. If there are Fengshui methods that
cannot be backed by such principles, then they become mere superstition and
should be discarded immediately. On a deeper level, Fengshui
is the expansion of the Tao from our hearts to our surroundings. Feng means Wind, but what is the Wind? It is the Great Way, the Tao
in motion, or better understood as the irresistible laws of Nature in action. Shui means Water, and Water is the carrier, the source of
all life in the universe; needless to say, no living being can survive without
it. The combination of Feng and Shui
refers to the interaction of all things between Heaven and Earth; the laws that
govern this interaction and its relation to Man contain the essence of Fengshui. This is the application of the most profound
wisdom to life, and should thus be respected by all people. You cannot call
yourself a Fengshui master by just memorizing a few Fengshui principles from books and carrying a Luopan (compass) around. You must be able to grasp the true
meaning behind those principles, before being able to use Fengshui
to benefit yourself and people around you. Without that understanding, Fengshui is just another form of new age mambo jambo.
